Quarantined - Day 1

So today is my first day of quarantine. No, I have not been tested nor am I sick, but our apartment complex has several cases of Covid-19 so the administrator decided with the number of elderly in the building it was very important to protect everyone by ordering a lock down. Many of us in New York State have been out of work and trying to stay in as much as possible, but at least you could go for a walk or to a store if you really needed to. That has all changed now.

This blog will be about my experience of living in a small apartment during quarantine. I will share what I do through out a day and what I found to be challenging for I know there will be days where I will want to scream, "get me out of here!"

This might afford me the time to find a way to upload pictures to this computer, as well as to continue my journey to better health. I will share some recipes using my groceries that I have in house which I hope will last the next two weeks. Some might not quite go with my dietary guidelines but the doctor and I have shared with her some of my choices so there would be no surprises. Happily I can say I have managed to lose in the last two weeks three pounds after being stuck at home and I have been trying very hard not to eat in the late evening which is the hardest time of the day for me.

Just a brief run down of my day after getting up and getting ready for the day. After breakfast I was able to tie in to our congregation meeting. We have a way to either tie in by phone or by Zoom. What a wonderful provision so we can be spiritually fed.

After lunch I decided to sit down with my colored pencils and continued coloring in my adult coloring book. It is called, Botanical Wonders Color Art for everyone. Many are filled with small spaces to fill and sometimes my eyes have a hard time focusing because of how busy the page can look. The final look though finished is well worth it and it helped to fill in some of the time stuck inside.

I then called a few friends to check up on them and some called me as well so part of the day was chatting on the phone. Mid afternoon I needed to get some exercising in so I went through my DVD collection and chose one to do. I then spent time watching some movies and had some internet time looking at some of the updated information on our area. (There are 36 who have tested positive in our county, Precautionary quarantine: 77, Mandatory quarantine 218, Active Hospitalizations: 5, Deaths 0, Total tests: 168.)

I do hope we can avoid having it bad here. All we can do is pray for everyone.

I hope you will follow me on this unique journey and may we all stay healthy during this time. Until tomorrow.......
