Intermittent Fasting

Well I am still trying to stay at home as much as possible only going out to pick up prescriptions or a few groceries. I do go for walks when it isn't raining and I have usually have something I can drop off at the post office. When I go out I always make sure I have a mask on. If there is no one around I will take it off and hold it in my hand until I need to put it on.

I am still doing some workshops and I must say I have learned many new things and hope I can remember the information. I did take notes so I will have something to refer to if I need it. I also have been trying to change images from a bpm to a jpg and today I finally figured out what I had to do, My programs are a littler newer and there are two menus that will pop up. I was only getting the first menu but realized I need to click and hold a little longer and then the menu I needed was there.

About maybe two weeks ago I did a telemedical visit with my weightloss doctor. I made sure I took all of my vitals prior, as well as, weighed myself. I also decided to measure to see if there were any changes and I was very pleased to see in a few areas where I lost a half inch to one inch. I wrote those down so that my doctor could get an idea what my measurements were before and what they were that morning. My weight has remained at 225 lbs so she decided to recommend intermittent fasting, doing a 16/8. That means I would not eat for sixteen hours and then have an eight hour window for eating. So I was to start fasting at 7:00 pm until 10:00 am for a total of 15 hours.

I wasn't really losing any weight and I was having some trouble not eating after 6:00 pm. I decided to try starting my fasting at 7:00 pm and going until 12:00 noon. That makes it a 17 hour fast and a six hour eating time. My doctor also prescribed Trazodone to take in the evening to help me not to feel anxious about eating and it has helped. It also improves my sleeping which has been a problem. This morning I felt a little lighter and weighed myself and lost one pound. I am planning to keep to this schedule and hopefully by my next appointment I will have lost five or six pounds.

Drinking plenty of water, tea or coffee helps throughout the day. I keep the coffee in the morning though I only drink decaffeinated as well as my tea. I think I have only one tea that is not decaf. My eating I keep to just lunch and if I need a snack I will have one and then a nice dinner around 5:00 or 6:00 pm. Nothing after 7:00 pm only water or tea. At some point I will try just having a protein shake for lunch and see how I do. First I want to get accustomed to going the 17 hour fast and if I am not light headed I will start doing the shake.

I will continue to let you know how the intermittent fasting is going and how I am feeling. Stay well and safe!
